Event: Perry Democrats are hosting a banned book auction fundraiser. Profits from the auction will help support local Democratic candidates.

Date: Saturday, June 1, 2024

Time: 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. - Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Location: The Proletariat Restaurant, 1213 2nd St., Perry, Iowa 50220

The auction will include a variety of books for all ages — from contemporary volumes that are currently being challenged to literary classics that have been banned in the past. The event includes readings by local high school students, and an address by Iowa Senator Claire Celsi, member of Education and Government Oversight Committees.
